Our Alaskan Lifestyle programs are all inclusive, handling the details of transportation, meal preparation, and activities so you can enjoy more of your precious time in Alaska. We purposely schedule in some down-time for you to spend on personal discovery and relaxation.

Marie's Story

Most Alaskans have their own personal story of how they came to be here. Marie first came to Southeast Alaska as a traveler on the Alaska Marine Highway ferry system. Visiting many ports along the way, she was looking for the true heart of Alaska in more out of the way, smaller communities.

The mysterious petroglyphs on the north shore of Wrangell Island spoke to her sense of curiosity and wonder at this amazing place, and in the following year she made plans to relocate from the Midwest, making Wrangell her home.

Marie founded Rainwalker Expeditions in 1997 and works as a naturalist - guiding fellow travelers and sharing some of her favorite places with humor and enthusiasm for the land she loves and now calls home. Alaskan Lifestyles is a division of Rainwalker Expeditions.
